Swimming in my dreams

Getting my blog in early today.

Last night I was checking out some puppet supplies and found a bag full of tiny puppet eyes. I decided not to buy them, but, it was to late an idea was planted in my head.  I got home and more and more the idea grew, it began to take hold in my mind. I knew what my puppet was going to be. I am going to make a Shoggoth puppet.

It was a terrible, indescribable thing vaster than any subway train—a shapeless congeries of protoplasmic bubbles, faintly self-luminous, and with myriads of temporary eyes forming and un-forming as pustules of greenish light all over the tunnel-filling front that bore down upon us, crushing the frantic penguins and slithering over the glistening floor that it and its kind had swept so evilly free of all litter.

I want to make this puppet, so much so that I dreamed I was under the ocean, and saw the Shoggoth puppet under luminescent algae and other things swimming about. The the ocean started to get hot very fast, the Shoggoth not liking that went back into the darkness.

I woke up with my A/C not putting out any cool air.  It was frozen.  So strange how an A/C can freeze on a hot day like today.

I have been going over the Mechanics of how to make this puppet come to life for most of the morning, listening to Tool has helped. I’ve got several ideas I’ll be using to make this crazy puppet idea.  I don’t think I can really fail at making a Shoggoth puppet, cause its just a glob of bubbles, eyes, tentacles, or what every else I can imagine.

If you are not familiar with a Shoggoth I did a image search and this was a picture I found to give you an idea of what I’m thinking of turning into felt and socks.
